Info about Neurologists
neurologists total history
Being a doctor in medicine is not an easy job. While all the students in the world have fun and go to parties all the time, the students at the medicine universities need to stay and learn dozens of pages of theory per day. It is something that not many people are capable of doing. Also, most people who are doctors-to-be go through the morgue in their first year and they learn to do autopsies. No matter how weird that might sound, it is very important for each and every doctor to properly learn the anatomy of the human body. Some of them might want to become surgeons and others might prefer the medical side of this area. No matter what their final choice is, the fact is that both sides need to learn lots of things in order to become able doctors and not risk their patient's lives.
There are also lots of categories of doctors. There are the cardiologists, ophthalmologists, anesthetists and many more. But what about neurologists? What is their job? As some of us might know, neurologists work with the nervous system. Their job is to find out if you have any brain disorders and find ways to treat them. Also, if this is the case, some people might need neurosurgery. Neurologists have very busy jobs, as they spend a big part of the day just talking and examining their patients. They do this in order to find out the symptoms of the patients and this way, to discover what their disorder might be. After they finish with this, they need to go and check on the other patients, just to find out if their treatments are working how they should and if there aren't any problems. They also need to talk to other neurologists, especially if they have patients with similar symptoms, so that they can check if both of them diagnosed them the same and if the medication each of them prescribed for the patient is the best one.
Although being a neurologist can be sometimes a very hard job, which not everyone can handle, it is also a career which can bring lots of satisfactions. With years of hard learning and only great grades, neurologists need to complete about 4 years of general medicine, and then another 5 years on the neurologist specialization. It might be a hard work, but it's interesting and the fact that you can help people live normal lives, without or with minimal brain disorder is an amazing thing.
